08/26/2008 - USCIS announced revised filing instructions for Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. As of 9/24/08, USCIS will only accept forms dated 8/25/08 and reject previous editions of the form. Effective immediately, all I-751s must be filed with either the VSC or CSC. #08082661.
08/20/2008 - DOS issued a final rule amending nonimmigrant visa regulations to require “ten print” fingerprint scans for all nonimmigrant visa applicants. The rule is effective 8/20/08. #

08/12/2008 - CBP's Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), an electronic system for screening passengers before they begin travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, began accepting applications on 8/1/08. The travel authorization will become mandatory for VWP travelers on 1/12/09. #08081260.
July 2, 2007 -- USCIS announced this afternoon that, effective today, it is rejecting all employment-based adjustment of status applications where the priority date is not current under the revised visa bulletin. Read more here.
July 2, 2007 -- The Department of State announced this morning that effective Monday, July 2, 2007, there will be no further authorizations in response to request for Employment-based preference cases. Employment preference numbers will once again be available to these chargeability areas beginning October 1, 2007.
